Henna
Henna is used in over 60 countries for adornment, medicine and in natural beauty products including hair dye. The extract of the Henna plant is the strongest natural dye known to man – however, Henna only stains the dead skin or the upper epidermis (top layers of the skin), making it a semi-permanent application. What is Henna Made of?
The leaves of the Henna plant are picked, dried, and ground down to a fine, olive-green colored powder. The powder is then mixed with lemon, sugar and nice smelling essentials oils to form a thick paste. The mixture is applied using a narrow ‘pastry tube’ in order to ensure accurate lines and drawings. After being applied to the skin, you will need to wait while it dries in order for the color to penetrate the skin. The temporary stain will be orange-brown initially, but will deepen considerably over 48-hours. upper epidermis (top layers of the skin), making it a semi-permanent application.
Beware of Counterfeit Henna
We only use the highest quality, real and natural Henna. We do not use what is commonly referred to as “Black Henna”. Please be warned that “Black Henna” Is NOT Real Henna, and is unhealthy. Be assured that we care about your good health and will use only genuine henna.
Designs
Since Henna tattoos are semi-permanent guests often select meaningful designs. You could choose a culturally or personally significant symbol, or more traditional and the popular tribal designs from Jacqueline book, use your own design, or have created just for you.Depending on the intricacy of the design, a Henna (or Mehndi) session can last from 2 minutes up to an hour.
